Clapham Relief Fund awards grants to individuals experiencing financial hardship, and to organisations helping those individuals. To qualify individuals need to live within our area of benefit and have their application supported by an agreed sponsor.
Our area of benefit comprises the parliamentary constituency of Clapham and Brixton Hill.
Grants for individuals generally do not exceed £300, and itemised receipts are required within two months of grants being made.
If you live outside our area, or need additional help, the following options may be of interest, especially if your need is urgent:
Lambeth Council have put together a “Cost of Living Crisis Support” page, which shows help available to you such as advice on benefits, financial support, food banks and housing.
This also includes information on Lambeth’s Emergency Support Scheme which offers help to Lambeth residents facing a crisis, emergency or disaster.
Lambeth Larder support local people with free information and resources. They can connect you to organisations that may be able to help. Their online directory is full of advice and support in Lambeth including guidance on welfare, benefits, and debt, details on local food banks and help for families.
The meetings of the trustees in 2024 will take place on 12th March, 25th June, 10th September and 10th December.
Completed application forms should be submitted at least ten days before the meetings. In exceptional circumstances applications may be considered at other times by the Chairman and Treasurer. Such applications should state clearly the reason for the urgency.
